AI for Dental Clinics
Best Dental Software in India (2026): An Honest Comparison
Jayesh Chaudhari · 2026-10-06 · 10 min read
Disclosure first: this article is written by AUM AI, the company behind Aumy, which is also dental software sold in India. We have tried to make it the comparison we would want to read ourselves. Every fact about another product comes from that vendor's own website, checked on 6 October 2026. Where a website does not say something, we write "not stated". That does not mean the product lacks the feature, only that its site does not mention it. We have not used review sites, forums or anyone else's claims. Prices and features change, so confirm them with the vendor before you decide.
There is no single best dental software in India. There is the software that fits how your clinic actually runs. A solo dentist with one chair needs something different from a three-branch group, and a clinic whose phone rings all evening has a different problem from a clinic whose records are still in registers. So we start with how to choose, then go product by product.
How to choose: the questions clinic owners actually ask
These are the questions we hear from dentists on calls, in their words:
- "Will it send reminders on WhatsApp, or only SMS?" Most of your patients read WhatsApp, not SMS. Check whether WhatsApp is included in the plan you are buying, and how many messages come with it.
- "Can my staff and my patients use it in Hindi or our language?" Ask about two things separately: the language of the software your team uses, and the language of the messages your patients receive.
- "Can you move my data from Practo, or from my Excel sheets?" Ask exactly what gets moved. Patient names and phone numbers are one thing. Treatment history, notes, X-rays and pending payments are another.
- "What will I pay in rupees, every year?" Ask for the price per month or per year, whether GST is included, what a second branch costs, and whether there is a setup fee.
- "Does it work for my type of clinic?" Dental-only software usually has deeper charting and treatment plans. Multi-specialty software suits a polyclinic or a hospital with a dental department.
- "Who answers the phone after 8 PM?" Most clinic software keeps records and sends reminders. Very little of it answers a patient who calls or messages when the clinic is closed. Decide whether that is a problem you need solved.
- "Can I see my clinic on my phone?" Check whether there is a doctor app on Android and iOS, and what it can actually do.
The software, one by one
In alphabetical order. Each section says what the vendor's site describes and who we think the product suits.
Cliniify
Cliniify is dental-only. Its site serves dentists and dental hygienists, from solo practices to dental chains, and says it is trusted by 2,200+ dental clinics across India. It lists a digital EMR with a 32-tooth chart, GST invoices linked to treatment plans, automated WhatsApp reminders, inventory and multi-clinic management, and a doctor app, Cliniify Pro, on iOS and Android. Its AI assistant, Axon, is described as listening to the consultation and writing clinical notes, with face recognition to pull up a patient's record, a prescription assistant and documentation in English and 22 regional languages. It offers free data migration from Practo, Dental Plus, Softdent or any CSV file. Pricing is not published: the pricing page asks five questions about your clinic and promises a call within two hours.
Suits: a dental clinic or chain that wants AI help in the chair with notes and prescriptions, and a free move off Practo.
Dentee
Dentee is a dental platform with several parts: a dentist directory for patients, clinic software called Dentee Manage, dental education and a dental store. Dentee Manage lists electronic patient records, appointments with automatic reminders, SMS and email notifications, routine check-up reminders, accounts and cash management, document, inventory and lab management, dental charting and role-based access, with data on Microsoft Azure. There are Dentee for Doctors apps on Android and iOS. The pricing page says the monthly plan is emailed to you after you sign up for a 15-day free trial, with no sign-up fee and unlimited doctors, appointments and records. WhatsApp and AI are not stated.
Suits: a clinic that wants a straightforward dental PMS with lab and inventory, and also wants to be listed on a dental directory.
Dentsoftware
Dentsoftware, from Avenger Soft Solutions, works only for dental clinics and dental colleges, and says it serves clients in 25+ countries. It is offered both in the cloud and on-premise, and the on-premise version runs without internet. It lists dental and perio charting, orthodontic and endodontic modules, prescriptions, billing including dental insurance, lab work, expenses, SMS and email reminders and an online booking link. There are three clinic editions (Executive, Plus and Enterprise) and two editions for dental colleges. Prices are not published: you fill in a form and the team contacts you, and there is a 7-day free trial. It imports basic patient details (name, address, phone) from a set Excel format. A mobile app, WhatsApp and AI are not stated.
Suits: a clinic that wants software on its own computer that keeps working when the internet drops, specialty charting, or a dental college.
MocDoc
MocDoc is multi-specialty. The Chennai-based company makes software for hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, clinics, ophthalmology and fertility centres, and a separate dental product. Its dental page is headed "AI-Powered Dental Practice Management System for Clinics". The feature it describes is automated EMR prompts, which suggest entries from lists the clinic sets up in advance. The dental EMR covers extra-oral and intra-oral examination, malocclusion, an interactive tooth chart and treatment planning from the chart. It also lists estimates that convert into bills, insurance and corporate billing, automated SMS confirmations and reminders, multi-chain management and apps for patients, doctors and front-desk staff. Its homepage lists email, SMS and WhatsApp communication. Prices are not published; you book a demo.
Suits: a hospital with a dental department, or a multi-location group that wants one system across departments and integrations with ERP software.
Practo Ray
Ray is Practo's clinic management software. Its page speaks to doctors and clinics in general, not to dentists in particular. It lists automated appointment SMS that let patients reschedule or cancel, patient history and templates, online payments, integration with Practo.com and the Practo Pro app. The plans page lists two plans. CM Atom is 999 a month on a one-year term, for up to 50 doctors, with 3,000 free SMS. Clinic Management is 1,499 a month on a one-year term, or 999 a month on a four-year term, with unlimited doctors and 8,000 free SMS. The plans page shows these figures without a currency symbol. There is a 15-day trial. Dental charting, WhatsApp and AI are not stated on the pages we checked.
Suits: a clinic that already gets patients through its Practo.com listing and wants appointments tied to it.
Clinicia
Clinicia is multi-specialty. Dental is one of about twenty specialties it lists, alongside a dental lab module and an edition for dental colleges, and it says it is used by 40,000+ healthcare professionals. Its dental page describes dental EMR notes (chief complaint, intraoral findings, radiograph observations), stage-wise treatment plans, X-ray and photo attachments, WhatsApp appointment confirmations and reminders, a token and queue system, and an online booking widget for your Google profile, Instagram or website. Pricing is published: Standard at Rs 7,000 and Premium at Rs 8,500 per clinic, with an extra clinic at Rs 3,500 or Rs 4,250. The page does not show the billing period next to these prices. Standard shares messages and documents by SMS and Premium by WhatsApp. Both include unlimited doctors and staff, and patient communication in the local language. There is no setup fee, a free trial, and apps on Android and iOS. AI is not stated.
Suits: a clinic that wants published pricing and WhatsApp sharing without a long sales process, or a polyclinic with several specialties under one roof.
Medecro.ai
Medecro.ai says it is dental-first. Its own FAQ says that if you need a general hospital system today, it is probably not the right fit yet. Its AI is X-ray screening: it marks possible caries, periapical radiolucency, bone levels, restorations and impacted teeth on radiographs. It presents this as a screening aid for the dentist and says it does not diagnose. Around that sits clinic software with appointments, patient records, FDI and Universal charting, digital prescriptions, billing, WhatsApp reminders, online booking and a patient app. Its three plans, Starter, Grow and Scale, differ mainly in AI scans per year (20, 1,000 and 3,000) and in multi-location features. When we checked, the pricing page did not show the price figures. It says prices include GST, billing is annual, data migration is free, and onboarding and support are in Hindi and English.
Suits: a dentist who wants AI help reading X-rays, alongside everyday practice management.
Dentobees
Dentobees, from Kozhikode, calls itself a dental ERP. It lists dental charting, treatment plans, billing for treatment, lab and pharmacy with full or partial payments, WhatsApp notifications for appointments, tokens, invoices and treatment plans, multi-branch management, staff attendance and salaries, and mobile apps for doctors and patients. Its prices are published on its homepage, excluding GST. Basic is ₹12,000 a year, with 5 doctor and 5 staff logins and 500 WhatsApp message credits. Growth is ₹20,000 a year and adds the mobile app, WhatsApp reminders and follow-ups and Google review collection. Scale is ₹38,000 a year and adds WhatsApp on your own number, six automated WhatsApp flows and an "AI agent for treatment plans". AI appears only as lines in the plan lists ("Basic AI Assistance", "Full AI Feature Access"), with no further description on the pages we checked.
Suits: a single clinic or small group that wants a clear yearly price in rupees with WhatsApp built in.

Where Aumy fits, honestly
Aumy is our product, so weigh this section accordingly. Aumy is dental-only, like several products above, but it starts from a different problem. Most of the software above is a system of record: it keeps the calendar, the chart and the bill, and sends reminders. Aumy is built around the patient journey. It has an AI receptionist that answers patients on WhatsApp (the official WhatsApp Business API, on the clinic's own number) and on phone calls. It books and reschedules against the doctor's real availability, and it handles reminders by message and call, after-care messages and follow-ups. It hands anything clinical or sensitive to your team. Underneath is a complete Clinic OS: appointments and doctor calendars, patient records, X-rays and prescriptions, dental charting and treatment plans, billing, digital registration and consent, and staff logins. Or it can run alongside the dental software you already use. Patient data is stored in AWS's Mumbai region.
On price, Aumy is not the cheapest option here. The Clinic OS starts from ₹3,000 a month. The AI receptionist, AI calls and follow-up automation are added on top and priced with each clinic. Prices exclude GST.
Which clinics are better served by something simpler: if you are a solo dentist or a small clinic, your receptionist keeps up with the calls and messages, and what you need is a clean calendar, charting, billing and WhatsApp reminders, a simpler practice management system with a published price will probably serve you well. Dentobees, Clinicia and Practo Ray all publish theirs. If AI help reading X-rays or writing notes in the chair is what you want, look at Medecro.ai and Cliniify. If you need an on-premise install, look at Dentsoftware.
Aumy is worth a conversation when the problem is not the records but the coordination. That means calls and WhatsApp messages that arrive while the team is busy or the clinic is closed, reminders and after-care that depend on someone remembering, and follow-ups that slip. We wrote more about that difference in PMS vs the patient journey and AI dental software for Indian clinics.
